Description
This captivating artwork is a fine and precise line drawing that evokes a peaceful countryside scene. In the foreground, a majestic tree towers over a tranquil stream, adding a sense of depth. The clean, simple lines emphasize the serene beauty of nature. In the background, a harmonious row of trees stretches to the horizon, creating a subtle contrast with the bright sky. The detailed grasses on the ground add a touch of refined realism. This idyllic landscape is distinguished by the skillful use of negative space, accentuating the atmosphere of tranquility and escape. The artist captures, with remarkable precision, the balance between simplicity and natural complexity, inspiring soothing contemplation.
Presentation
Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Olivier Picy first forged his vision in the rigor of high-level graphic design.
In the 2000s, he collaborated as a freelancer with industry leaders (Evian, Orangina, Côte d'Or), before becoming known for his digital visual creation. Artistic approach: Cognitive Art and Nature Today, the artist is dedicated to exploring the tree and cognitive art. His current works, created with pigmented ink on thick paper (A4 format) in between three and five hours, are striking for their density and almost photographic rendering.
Through the obsessive repetition of the line from archival quality ballpoint pen, he explores the complex structure of living things. His trees are not simple botanical representations, but neural networks projected onto paper, a visual metaphor for the resilience and connection between the human mind and nature. The surgical precision of the line allows the eye to follow a mixture of continuous and discontinuous lines, attempting to find a balance between matter and void.
