Description
This captivating black and white drawing depicts a tranquil and idyllic landscape. Trees, finely detailed with precise strokes, line a calm pond where the water subtly reflects their silhouettes. The balanced composition guides the eye across the scene, from the tufts of grass in the foreground to the gentle hills in the background. The absence of color accentuates contrasts and textures, bringing the natural elements to life solely through the interplay of light and shadow. The artist captures a serene and timeless atmosphere, inviting the viewer to contemplate the simple and soothing beauty of nature. Each stroke appears meticulously placed to evoke visual harmony, demonstrating impressive technical mastery. This work is a tribute to the eternal beauty of natural landscapes.
Presentation
Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Olivier Picy first forged his vision in the rigor of high-level graphic design.
In the 2000s, he collaborated as a freelancer with industry leaders (Evian, Orangina, Côte d'Or), before becoming known for his digital visual creation. Artistic approach: Cognitive Art and Nature Today, the artist is dedicated to exploring the tree and cognitive art. His current works, created with pigmented ink on thick paper (A4 format) in between three and five hours, are striking for their density and almost photographic rendering.
Through the obsessive repetition of the line from archival quality ballpoint pen, he explores the complex structure of living things. His trees are not simple botanical representations, but neural networks projected onto paper, a visual metaphor for the resilience and connection between the human mind and nature. The surgical precision of the line allows the eye to follow a mixture of continuous and discontinuous lines, attempting to find a balance between matter and void.
