An original oil pastel drawing capturing a surreal moment of calm in the middle of chaos: a man sits casually on a folding chair in the center of a busy Los Angeles freeway, peacefully reading a newspaper while traffic stands frozen around him. Bathed in warm California sunlight, the scene blends urban realism with surreal storytelling, creating a striking commentary on modern life, stress, and detachment.

This contemporary figurative artwork combines expressive oil pastel textures with cinematic composition inspired by Los Angeles street culture and freeway life. The contrast between stillness and congestion gives the piece a powerful emotional presence, making it ideal for collectors of urban art, surreal contemporary drawings, California-inspired artwork, and modern figurative pieces.

Perfect for modern interiors, creative studios, or collectors seeking unique statement art that sparks conversation. This artwork appeals to fans of urban surrealism, social commentary art, and contemporary pastel drawing.
