Description
This intriguing artwork presents an anthropomorphic tree, its expressive face emerging with piercing eyes and leafy foliage. The figures dancing around it, with their fluid and organic forms, evoke a mystical ritual. Their grainy texture contrasts with the smooth surface of the black background, accentuating their fluid movement. The unusually shaped creatures blend harmoniously into the foliage, adding a dimension of mystery and dreamlike quality. The gold and silver hues create a striking play of light, highlighting the dynamism and vitality of the scene. This chromatic contrast between the dark background and the luminous figures immediately draws the eye, inviting a close exploration of the details. The artwork captivates with its otherworldly atmosphere and symbolism, prompting reflection on the connection between nature and the metaphysical realm.
Presentation
Raâk was born in Brittany, in the Finistère region, in 1940. At the age of sixteen, inhabited by malaise, she painfully leaves "the gast country" for the capital where her quest for the Grail begins.
1975: The year of reckoning. The path she had taken appeared to her as a total failure which made her struggle in a serious existential crisis. The "safety net" writing that she has always practised becomes powerless itself and is no longer of any help to her.
1976: Raâk discovers a free creative workshop in her neighbourhood where clay is offered as a therapeutic material. And this is the unlikely ascent towards life, which finds strange and jubilant passages through the pounding of her suffering. In his hands, obscure latent forces heaped up by thirty-six years of heartbeats explode.
