Description
The artist explores here the relationship between human and nature through a rigorous graphic study.
This black and white composition focuses on the repetition of organic shapes.
The eye travels through fruit cuts whose details are rendered with precision.
The soft-line technique allows for the creation of deep contrasts and subtle shades of gray.
The inlay reinforces the visual density of the whole.
The arrangement of the elements evokes a natural, almost abstract rhythm.
The line is sure, precise, and minimalist.
This work on material emphasizes the fragility and beauty of the plant world.
The print is presented in a clean white frame which accentuates the sobriety of the subject.
The artist's signature appears discreetly in the bottom right.
This print was made in 2024.
Presentation
'I tirelessly pursue movement: my drawings, executed from life, seek to capture the sensation to the point of abstraction, whilst my photographs, taken against dyed backgrounds, blend different materials to reveal the beauty of Nature.'
Trained in photography and video at the École des Beaux-Arts, my approach to movement is closely aligned with that of Marcel Duchamp. My drawings extend into engraving, lithography, photography, painting, sculpture and video within a poetic universe. My work explores the connections between humankind and nature, as well as ecological and social issues, with a particular focus on water.
A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts, O'd is an intaglio printmaker, photographer and teacher of printmaking and cyanotype.
