Description
"Untitled (Volcanic Eruption #3)
Edition of 33 signed and numbered on a label
Print coming with the book Phénomènes published by RVB BOOKS.

Presentation

Marina Gadonneix is a french artist graduated from the national school of photography in Arles. Her work weaves a complex link between documentary and fiction through photographs of places given over to temporary neglect. In each of the series , the artist explores the startling transition of a rugged territory to a fantastical image, of a form of evidence of reality to its most metaphorical mental construction.

Marina Gadonneix’s photographs play with the clash of document, simulation and fiction. Deserted places and interiors create a rather disturbing atmosphere in which the line between real objects and fictitious incidents becomes blurred. Her work has appeared in solo shows and group exhibitions in France as well as internationally such as Phillips de Pury (New York), Centre photographique d'ile de France (Pontault Combault), Rencontres internationales de la photographie (Arles), la Box (Bourges), Kunsthalle (Tubingen). In 2006 she was awarded with the Prix HSBC for Photography.
