OH KYUNG HWAN, or Oh, Kyunghwan, named as well CHOO Y, was born in 1941 in South Korea. He is painting ideological and political paintings. In 1982 he shows "Situation 82", in SUR-INDEPENDENTS Fair in Paris, where famous artists exhibited before him, Calder, Dalí, Mirabelle Dors, Max Ernst, Aline Gagnaire, Alberto Giacometti, Henri Goetz, Hans Hartung, Kandinsky, Miro, Maurice Rapin, Man Ray, Yves Tanguy. "Situation 82", 1982 oil on wood with nails and pliers denounces the war generated by communist political systems and former Japanese colonialism, destroying his country, with 2 500 000 deaths.

OCI Museum Seoul, 2013, "Kyung Hwan Oh, Cosmos & space", for his Solo Show Art Critic, Curator Seoul University Professor Chung, Young-Mok writes on his art, "His paintings of the space so far were quite ideological. And maybe that was why his paintings were heavy, serious and philosophical".
PARIS ART OLYMPIADS
In 1991 and 1992, under the High Patronage of French President Mitterrand and Jacques Chirac, Mayor of Paris, he was selected with "Situation 82" to represent South Korea, during the Art Olympiads organized by Lise Cormery Gallery for the CNOSF, French Olympic Committee. This international event was following the famous 1988 Art Olympiads in Seoul, South Korea, where a monumental sculptures Museum in open air and a Museum of International paintings was created for the world competition, in order to invite and show the art of major international artists of the 20th Century.

This important political painting is exhibited in 1982 during SUR-INDEPENDENTS Fair in Paris, where famous artists exhibited before him, Calder, Dalí, Mirabelle Dors, Max Ernst, Aline Gagnaire, Alberto Giacometti, Henri Goetz, Hans Hartung, Kandinsky, Miro, Maurice Rapin, Man Ray, Yves Tanguy. "Situation 82", 1982 is an oil on wood with nails and pliers. It denounces the war generated by communist political systems destroying South Korea, after the invasion by Japan.
It is as well displayed and selected for the ART OLYMPIADS 1991 and 1992 in Paris.

Can I negotiate the price of an artwork?

For some artworks, you can negotiate the price. If the price of the work is negotiable, you have a “Make an offer” button under the “Buy this work” one.

To submit your offer, you must make a payment of the desired amount. Your offer will then be forwarded to the gallery, which reserves the right to accept or reject it. If your offer is accepted, it means that your order is confirmed by the gallery and they will prepare the artwork for shipment. If your offer is rejected, you will be refunded the total amount paid automatically. The gallery can also propose a counter-offer for the acquisition of the artwork.

Where can I have my order delivered?

Return and cancellation

You can return the artwork without needing to provide a reason or pay a penalty fee up to 14 days after receiving your order.

In the case that the right of withdrawal is exercised in the aforementioned time frame, the price of the artwork(s) purchased and the shipping costs will be reimbursed by us as soon as the gallery has received the artwork and notified us.

Artsper will manage the return of the work and will bear the cost of returns (which will either be paid by you and refunded by Artsper or directly paid by Artsper).

The artwork must be returned in perfect condition and in its original packaging (or equivalent).
