Sick at heart, 2023

Ziad Dib Jreige

This abstract composition pulses with raw emotional energy. Thick layers of acrylic paint create a tactile landscape of peaks and valleys. The palette balances a vibrant blue background against earthy tones of beige and ochre. A sudden burst of crimson red anchors the lower center. A single blue bead adds a precise, mixed-media detail to the textured surface.
The Lebanese artist blends his poetic sensibilities with a bold, experimental approach. He merges the boundaries between literature and visual expression. The brushwork is spontaneous and rhythmic. It suggests a figure emerging from a chaotic storm of color. This creates a tension between form and dissolution. The artwork invites the viewer into a state of deep contemplation. It transforms internal struggle into a visceral visual experience. The composition relies on the physical weight of the paint to convey its message. Each stroke reflects a fusion of fantasy and realism. The final result is an intellectual exploration of the human spirit. The piece concludes with a sharp contrast between the cool blue void and the warm, impasto center.

How many, carrying a bleeding wound at heart, fighting to live a decent life. How many are masked by the colors of joy, yet their core beats with sadness.- Z.D.J.
