Description
The artwork is an exemplary manifestation of abstract expressionism, characterized by a dynamic interplay of colors, textures, and forms. Dominated by a rich palette of teal, magenta, and white, the piece captivates the viewer's gaze with its vivid and evocative composition. Bold strokes of teal emerge as the foundational layer, establishing a sense of depth and complexity. Overlaid with bursts of magenta, these hues create an intense visual contrast, enhancing the painting's overall vibrancy. The magenta infusions seem almost explosive, their energy radiating across the canvas in sporadic splatters and deliberate streaks.
These elements suggest movement, evoking a sense of chaos and spontaneity that is both engaging and thought-provoking. Interspersed throughout the composition are abstract, white forms that appear to float and curve gracefully, providing a striking counterbalance to the more chaotic elements. These shapes add an element of fluidity and harmony, guiding the viewer's eye through the dynamic landscape.
The textures in the piece are remarkable, with dense, layered sections creating a palpable sense of depth. The meticulous splatters and drips enhance the painting's tactile quality, inviting viewers to not just see, but almost feel the explosive energy contained within.
Presentation
Born in Ostrava, I grew up in Hlučín, Czechia. For the first 20 years I lived in North Moravia, then in Michalovce, Slovakia, and since 2005 I have lived alternately in Bratislava and Austria.
I have always been involved in painting, but only really intensively in the last 10 years, when I moved from realistic to abstract painting. Abstraction offers me unimaginable possibilities of freedom.
Through painting I can express the energy of thoughts, feelings, and then the image sends it into space. My works are the essence of what I do. I often have a thought in me that will create the name of the painting, but I don't think deeply about how to make the painting. But I know why I'm doing it, I know who I'm doing it for, even if that person is unknown.
I have a strong urge to paint, and if I don't notice the time while working, I always put the energy that the painting needs into the painting. I still have other paintings in progress and sometimes I wake up at night and something makes me get up and in the morning I finish a painting that was waiting unfinished before. These are the works that I say they painted themselves.
I am satisfied with my life, I am grateful for everything I have experienced. I enjoy life in paintings, I paint for people and I wish everyone could bring the energy they need into their space and enjoy painting.
