Jardin d'orient - Botanical sceneries, 2021

Aurélie Trabaud   New & remarkable Artists

This artwork exudes a serene elegance and remarkable finesse, embodying a harmonious fusion of classicism and modern symbolism. At the center of the composition, a nude female figure sits on the edge of a richly colored pool, with assonant patterns of blue and red, evoking a dreamlike world. Her posture is graceful, her attitude tranquil, seeming in harmony with the environment around her. The background reveals a lush green landscape, stylized with meticulous precision.

The background is covered with dot patterns, brushstrokes, simulating a mystical and enchanting Garden of Eden. The figures of palm trees and other exotic plants seem to float. The omnipresent green hues exude a calming and immersive atmosphere, contrasting skillfully with the more vivid foreground.

Another fascinating detail is the small white origami that the woman delicately holds in her left hand, symbolizing purity, peace and perhaps freedom of the spirit. This element adds narrative depth, evoking themes of vulnerability and harmony with nature.

The green passe-partout that surrounds the central scene completes the painting by reinforcing its contemplative and sacred aspect. The overall composition is a sensual and poetic homage to natural beauty and inner tranquility, capturing the observer in a suspended moment of reverie and wonder.

This work is part of the "Botanical Sceneries" collection which depicts women in a dreamlike environment of gardens with plants and patterns. The nude painted in acrylic on canvas comes from sketches from live model sessions. It is staged in a rather spontaneous composition made of brush patterns. The details were drawn with pen and acrylic. This painting is done on a cotton canvas previously coated with Gesso.
