Description
"Le refuge du misanthrope" is the first opus of the series entitled "Chrysalide" devoted to withdrawal, to loneliness with a view to future fulfillment. This essentially blue abstract lyrical canvas invites us to calm, serenity, it is a fetus, a cocoon, the refuge of a soul in the making. This is a painting done in March 2023 on linen canvas with high quality Leroux colors. It is signed lower right and dated and signed on the back.
Presentation
Artist Statement:
After artistic studies at Paris, I have been painting in various parts of the world for more than 20 years. From my native Champagne to Crete, Limousin to Benin and after ten years in Madagascar, i have been living in the Reunion island where the varied landscapes are a great inspiration.
Through all the shapes and colors existing in nature, i try to decipher the messages, the vibratory language, by using them as a pure mode of expression, beyond the symbolic, beyond what is recognizable as an object, beyond words, beyond what we can see.
Each of my paintings is a representation of the questions I ask myself, doubts and discoveries, a slice of the experience of my feelings, a graphic interrogation of our existence and our essence.
These are snapshots of my soul.
I paint the world as i perceive it in its mystery.
