Description
This captivating work depicts a surreal scene at the edge of the ocean, where a female figure lies in the foreground on a golden beach. She seems to merge with the maritime landscape, evoking a harmony between human and nature. The woman, serenely lying, is caressed by the delicate waves that wash up on the sand. Her black hair blends into the ground, creating a striking visual effect of continuity and fluidity. On the horizon, the sky is a sunset orange, emphasizing the beauty of a peaceful twilight. The rocks emerging from the water seem to float, defying the laws of gravity. They strangely resemble a moving drape, or perhaps the woman's legs, adding a touch of strangeness and mystery to the whole. The sun, partially veiled by a subtle cloud, dominates the scene like a benevolent eye, distributing its soft, golden light (gold leaf). Each element of this work is carefully orchestrated to create a dreamlike atmosphere, where time seems suspended. The warm colors and dreamlike shapes invite meditative contemplation, leaving the viewer captive in this contemplative and poetic illusion.
Presentation
Art, for me, is an inner journey and shouldn't simply stop at the boundaries of realism, but rather cross that barrier and plunge us into the very heart of the imagination, of surrealism. We must appeal to the imagination, the impossible, the unreal through the phenomenon of pareidolia in order to captivate the viewer's attention. By employing pareidolia, or the art of seeing something else, a cognitive phenomenon combining the interplay of shapes, shadows, and light, Saâdi creates a kind of optical illusion that leads the viewer to linger over his canvases in order to understand what lies hidden within. Using pareidolia as an artistic and poetic tool, Saâdi draws us into his artistic universe where landscapes and figures intertwine. Surrealism remains his central theme, where feminine beauty echoes the beauty of nature.
Farid resides in France but exhibits regularly throughout the world (Japan, Belgium, France, USA, etc.).
