Description
This dynamic artwork captures the vibrant, futuristic essence of one of the world’s most famous urban metropolises: New York. The scene depicts a bustling boulevard, bathed in bright neon colors, evoking an atmosphere that feels both modern and timeless. Towering skyscrapers line both sides of the street, their facades illuminated by bold, dazzling advertisements.
The artistic treatment of the buildings is a captivating blend of precise geometric lines and tags reminiscent of the freedom of street art culture. The play of light adds remarkable depth, contrasting the shadowed areas of the facades with the bright flashes of signage. The artist expertly harmonizes the colors, using neon blues, purples, and pinks to infuse the piece with a pulsating energy. A few raised collages add a sense of depth to the scene. The cool tones of the structures blend skillfully with the warm reflections of the lights, creating a visual symphony.
This painting is a bold celebration of urbanity, where every detail contributes to an immersive vision of the dynamism and hope of a modern city in perpetual evolution.
Presentation
Born in 1985, Pappay is a French painter and sculptor whose works are exhibited internationally in Germany, Austria, United States, Singapore and more.
Coming from the School of Fine Arts, Pappay settled in 2008 in the South of France and began several years of creative research and experimentation. The result is a unique graphic touch with a very urban style.
Pappay draws inspiration from the chaos of cities and their architecture, as well as from graphic design and street art. Pappay has always been fascinated by the relationship between humanity and its environment. The scenes represented in Pappay's compositions are devoid of any human presence, where time is suspended, objects and buildings are witnesses of life and history ready to come alive before our eyes.
Deeply rooted in urban art, Pappay shines in the street art scene by regularly creating frescoes.
