Description
This captivating artwork depicts a young woman immersed in a reverie, embodying timeless elegance. Her pure white dress, dotted with light touches of pink, subtly contrasts with the dark background, creating a melancholic and captivating atmosphere. The artist uses a meticulous Posca stroke technique to capture the fluid texture of her long brown hair, which seems to blend harmoniously into the night sky. The woman's nostalgic posture, holding a bouquet of pastel flowers, evokes a poetic softness and emotional depth. The background, rich in shades of blue and black, accentuates the surrounding mystery, while suggestive forms of white lights introduce elements of dream and escape.
This work is inspired by the painting "The North Wind" painted by John William Waterhouse in 1903. and which represents the Greek personification of the north wind.
Presentation
Most street artists are self-taught. Not her. It is after having followed classical studies at the Beaux-Arts, and taking with her a solid cultural and technical background that Nadège Dauvergne turned to urban art.
I grew up in the suburbs of Paris and the world of graffiti has always attracted me, I liked to hang out near the railroad tracks in the wastelands, these are inspiring places," explains the artist. Her work in the street has logically come to feed her works sold in galleries.
In recent years, she has been working on two recurring themes: the (mostly) female figures of academic painting or sculpture that she introduces into the world of urban contemporary art on the one hand, and wild animals that venture into the city on the other. In both cases, these women and these animals, immigrated in an environment which is a priori foreign to them, manage not only to survive, but transfigure their new environment by irradiating it with their mysterious and timeless grace.
