Description
This striking artwork portrays a series of tall, colorful buildings perched beside a turbulent sea, under a brooding, storm-laden sky. The architectural structures, adorned with rustic windows and varying facades of warm yellows, soft greens, and muted stonework, evoke a historic coastal town. The churning, deep blue waters contrast sharply with the structured solidity of the buildings, painting a vivid image of nature's unrelenting force versus human perseverance. Dramatic lighting emphasizes the tension, with shadows casting an eerie yet captivating allure across the scene. This juxtaposition of tranquility and turmoil is further highlighted by the nuanced textures and bold brushstrokes, which add depth and movement. The composition elegantly captures both the beauty and the impending danger of coastal life, making it a compelling visual narrative brimming with emotion and historical resonance.
Presentation
My work focuses on imaginary buildings, streets and houses that I photograph. I usually use dark backgrounds with bright colours to generate chromatic contrasts, although sometimes I invert the formula with a reduced palette on a white background. I paint scenes that evoke silence, reflection, solitude and introspection, exploring human presence or absence. I seek to transport the observer to my emotions and, at the same time, allow them to connect with their own. Each interpretation enriches the dialogue between the work and the person who contemplates it.
