Description
Reflecting on our current lives, landscapes allow me to convey different aspects of people's character, their dreams, and hopes.
I wondered, what makes the image of Italian pines growing on the steep slopes of Positano so captivating to me?
Positano's coast is one of Italy's renowned resorts, often associated with wealth, passion, and an eventful life full of vibrant experiences. It embodies everything many of us long for right now.
The trees growing on the coastal cliffs symbolize resilience.
These pines must endure the harsh elements, their roots deeply embedded in the soil, seeking strength there.
It mirrors how many in Ukraine are experiencing life now.
Your face and body, like that tree, are turned toward the “bright and joyful future," with your heart filled with faith in the fight for freedom. You feel the support of your “roots"—your family—and you know that no storms or winds will break your unshakable will.
About series
This painting is from the "Hope" series, where the idea of preserving one's identity despite challenging circumstances is conveyed, as well as the hope for a return to peaceful life. In her work, Ksenia does not depict the pain of internal conflict. Instead, she seeks points of support to rise and move forward, to help others rebuild their lives.
Presentation
Ksenia Tsyganyuk, born in 1991 in northern Russia, began her artistic career after moving to Rivne, Ukraine. Her paintings—landscapes and still lifes—capture a joyful, childlike sense of wonder through vibrant colors, rich textures, and ornamental details. With a touch of naïveté in her imagery, she seeks to awaken the viewer's “inner child," reminding them of how beautiful the world is when one is free from expectations, eager to explore, and ready to experiment.
In today's fast-changing and stressful world—marked by crises, wars, and forced migration—it's easy to lose balance and feel overwhelmed. Ksenia's art offers a moment of respite, inviting viewers into a dialogue with their own feelings of lightness and freedom. She hopes to rekindle the emotions of childhood, when one felt safe, at home, and surrounded by love. Her goal is to create art that helps people reconnect with their inner Sun—the light that guides them through life.
Ksenia works in mixed media, blending acrylic and oil on canvas. She favors a loose, expressive style that preserves the spontaneity of each brushstroke, allowing emotions to flow freely onto the canvas.
