Description
Shifting Sky draws the viewer into a dreamlike interplay of light and shadow, where air and earth seem to dissolve into one another. Like wind-carved dunes or cloud-like formations in an otherworldly sky it evokes both movement and stillness, serenity and transformation.
The piece balances a predominantly monochromatic palette with soft golden hues that radiate warmth and contrast gently with the cooler tones. A tactile surface, shaped with sand and layered pigments, gives depth and dimension to the flowing forms.
From the darker corners to the illuminated center, a subtle gradient invites introspection and calm. There's an atmospheric quality to this work—one that captures nature's ephemeral gestures and translates them into a refined, abstract visual language.
At once poetic and grounded, Shifting Sky offers space for personal interpretation while maintaining a harmonious, meditative presence—ideal for collectors drawn to organic texture, emotional nuance, and art that feels alive in contemporary interiors.

Presentation
Francesca Borgo (b. 1970) is an Italian abstract painter whose practice investigates liminal thresholds — the spaces between erosion and emergence, stillness and movement, self and other. Working with layered combinations of acrylic, sand, and mineral pigments, she creates atmospheric surfaces that evoke glaciers, mist, sedimented terrains, and states of emotional transition.
Her work is informed by a background in cognitive neuroscience and psychology, grounding her visual language in an exploration of perception, authenticity, and the subtle ways we grow and open ourselves to others while remaining rooted in who we are. Her paintings function as meditative thresholds, inviting viewers into a slower encounter with presence.
Borgo has exhibited widely in the United Kingdom, the United States, and recently Asia. Her work was shown at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition (London, 2022), and she has presented multiple solo booths at The Other Art Fair (Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London, Dallas). Additional presentations include the Affordable Art Fair New York, and the Incheon Art Show in South Korea.
Her works are held in private collections across Europe, North America, and Asia. She lives and works in Treviso, Italy.
