Description
In "Along the way", I explore the relationship between movement, memory and personal transformation through an abstract landscape inspired by the changing paths of water.
Flowing contours cross the canvas in different directions, forming a layered composition of soft ivory, warm sand and deep charcoal tones. Some lines converge into darker currents, while others open into delicate, almost translucent passages, suggesting the continuous transformation of natural terrain.
These movements also reflect the unpredictable course of our lives. Encounters, choices and unexpected changes gradually influence who we become, leaving traces that remain part of our personal landscape.
I combine acrylic, natural sand and mineral pigments to create a finely textured surface where light reveals subtle variations in depth and tone. The interplay between luminous areas and darker passages gives the painting a sense of movement and spatial openness.
An original contemporary abstract painting that invites reflection on the journey itself, rather than a fixed destination.

Presentation
Francesca Borgo (b. 1970) is an Italian abstract painter whose practice investigates liminal thresholds — the spaces between erosion and emergence, stillness and movement, self and other. Working with layered combinations of acrylic, sand, and mineral pigments, she creates atmospheric surfaces that evoke glaciers, mist, sedimented terrains, and states of emotional transition.
Her work is informed by a background in cognitive neuroscience and psychology, grounding her visual language in an exploration of perception, authenticity, and the subtle ways we grow and open ourselves to others while remaining rooted in who we are. Her paintings function as meditative thresholds, inviting viewers into a slower encounter with presence.
Borgo has exhibited widely in the United Kingdom, the United States, and recently Asia. Her work was shown at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition (London, 2022), and she has presented multiple solo booths at The Other Art Fair (Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London, Dallas). Additional presentations include the Affordable Art Fair New York, and the Incheon Art Show in South Korea.
Her works are held in private collections across Europe, North America, and Asia. She lives and works in Treviso, Italy.
