Sakurako Hamaguchi   Best sellers

This canvas work is by Sakurako Hamaguchi, a painter known for visualizing sensations unique to childhood. Deeply influenced by manga and anime since her early years, Hamaguchi renders figures that appear to emerge from the realm of animation, abstracted and infused with vivid dynamism. Her compositions are charged with energy through the interplay of color and line, while intricate motifs embedded in the details suggest narrative fragments, inviting viewers to engage in interpretive exploration between the figures and their symbolic surroundings.

Hamaguchi's talent was recognized by internationally acclaimed Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara, and her works have since been acquired by major museum collections—an indication of her growing significance in the contemporary art scene. In addition to her exhibition practice, she has recently expanded her activities into illustrated books and newspaper illustrations, demonstrating a versatile approach to visual storytelling across multiple platforms.

Recipient of the Gold Prize at GEISAI 5 and Yoshitomo Nara Personal Prize at GEISAI 2, an art event founded by Takashi Murakami to spotlight emerging artists.
