The oil painting on Cardboard titled "River against the backdrop of snowy trees" captures the stark, raw beauty of a winter landscape, where the icy chill of the season meets the tranquil flow of a river. The artist has masterfully depicted the quiet, contemplative mood of a winter day, using a palette dominated by cool blues, deep greens, and muted grays, accented by the occasional warm tone to break the cold monotony. The foreground of the painting features a winding river, its dark, glassy surface reflecting the muted tones of the overcast sky above. The water is rendered with thick, deliberate brushstrokes, creating a sense of movement as it cuts through the snowy landscape. The artist's use of heavy impasto adds a tactile quality to the water, suggesting the weight and depth of the river as it carves its path through the wintry terrain. On the left side, the riverbank is lined with bare, snow-covered trees, their twisted branches reaching up into the steel-gray sky. The trees are depicted in a mix of cool grays and pale whites, their limbs intertwined and layered with thick, textured paint that captures the rough, brittle nature of frozen branches. The bare branches contrast sharply with the dark water below, creating a striking visual tension that draws the viewer's eye into the scene. The snow along the riverbank is painted with a combination of soft whites, cool blues, and touches of warm ochre, capturing the subtle interplay of light and shadow as the weak winter sun struggles to break through the dense cloud cover. The rough, uneven texture of the snow hints at the harshness of the winter landscape, where the elements have shaped the earth into a jagged, unforgiving terrain. In the distance, the trees blend into the misty, gray horizon, their forms becoming less distinct as they recede into the cold, foggy air. The sky above is a swirling mass of cool gray tones, painted with broad, sweeping strokes that convey the turbulent, ever-changing nature of winter weather. This atmospheric effect enhances the feeling of isolation and quiet that permeates the scene, creating a sense of solitude that is both peaceful and haunting.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
