Description
“Originally, I represented progress.
My content is pure, balanced, essential to human well-being; in all modesty, I contain life. I am able to be of service to Earthlings whose liquid coming out of the tap is a danger, and to all those who cannot or do not want to have a tap within their reach.
A long time ago, multinationals had the idea of enclosing mineral water in a plastic bottle, like me, they were not aware at the time of the toxicity of plastic.
Humans are like that, they get excited about a discovery, commercialize it, and then they do more research and realize that what they called a scientific breakthrough wasn't, on the contrary, it was harmful. But what they also didn't foresee was that this plastic would not only be a risk to human health but also that it would become a risk to the environment, a source of pollution for soil, air, and water.
Recently, I met a child on a beach who, through his parents, had been made aware of ocean pollution. He said that later he wanted to be a "fish veterinarian" and that he wanted to protect his friends from all the plastic objects that people were throwing into the sea. He also proudly said, "I drink water bottles and then I throw you in the trash."
I could not contain my joy at hearing these beautiful words. I then asked this little dreamer, "What if you painted me a picture of a landscape where your fish friends would live in an ocean just as you would like it?"
Presentation
Born in Paris. His studio is located in Paris.
After studying Psychology and Philosophy and then Advertising, Christine Beloeuvre works for 30 years in advertising both in France and in Africa and Asia.
She discovered acrylic paint on paper in 2016, quickly converted to wood. She creates a concept of Wood, acrylic with textures and collages of objects she calls « Tabula ». Then she goes to the canvas on chassis.
Christine Beloeuvre begins with an idea to represent everyday objects through collages in the midst of very colourful imaginary landscapes. To divert everyday objects from their original functionality, to recognize them a power of symbolism, to put them in an incongruous situation allows it to tell a story, to manifest its distance on the ironic features of our societies, describing an emotional state while bringing the dream.
Its purpose is never to stray from an aesthetic or even poetic dimension, the contrast between the realism of the object and its imaginary setting, always very colorful, captivates it.
