Work from the collection: ICELAND - The silences of the soul.
This striking work captures the volcanic eruption of Grindavik. A nuanced palette of earthy reds, burning oranges, and vaporous whites. The sky, a delicate blue, stretches above, evoking an atmosphere of calm and infinity. The layers of paint create a rich and dynamic texture, suggesting rolling hills or distant fields. The composition is marked by a bold contrast between the depth of the dark tones in the foreground and the lightness of the bright sky. This visual tension draws the eye, inviting a deeper exploration of the nuances. This painting is a celebration of nature and emotion. The volcanoes of the Reykjanes Peninsula had not erupted for eight centuries, until March 2021, when a period of increased seismic activity began. Volcanologists estimated that volcanic activity in the region had entered a new era. The artist, fascinated by Iceland, takes you into this atmosphere.

As a painter, I choose to put the beauty of the world at the heart of my work. The 66° series:
ICELAND - The Silences of the Soul, shows the fragility of Icelandic landscapes: glaciers, volcanic beaches, midnight sun, boreal light, lagoons. The artist brings back from his travels, wild expanses, grandiose landscapes, Húsavík, Akureyri, Þingeyri, Jökulsárlón, Leirhnjúkur. Painting Iceland is a tribute to its power and vulnerability. MOCAS bears witness to this beauty, to better highlight its fragility. His paintings are a call to slow down, to feel, to reconnect with oneself while respecting the living. In the face of ecological threats, painting becomes a sensitive and poetic gesture of resistance, so that the beauty of this territory remains in memory.
