Onset, 2025

Tanya Sviatlichnaya

In “Onset," the composition captures a living rhythm — slender stems weave across the page, creating a structure of growth and motion. At the center, the closed flower becomes a pulse point, gathering the energy of the whole.

The piece speaks of beginnings that are so fragile, yet certain. It's not about bloom, but the confidence before it. A moment of trust in nature's timing, filled with soft, attentive stillness.

“Onset" is the first artwork in the “Growth" series, exploring plants as reflections of rhythm, balance, and transformation. Each piece captures a moment of transition, from waiting to blooming, from motion to presence.

The used mixed media lets gouache's matte surface of the drawing contrast with the precision of colored pencil detailing, highlighting texture interplay.

Materials: gouache and colored pencils on fine art paper 300g/m2 (50% cotton). The surface of the painting is coated with a protective fixative. The painting is signed from the front and from the back.

Shipping: the artwork will be mailed flat in a cardboard box via EMS (Express Mail Service).
