Tony Lara "ToLARA"  

Tony Lara, known professionally as ToLARA, is a visual artist whose practice integrates painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video art, and performance. Founder of Colectivo Espectro and CCM Colectiva Contemporánea Malena, he develops a coherent and continuously evolving body of work oriented toward an immersive and contemporary aesthetic experience.

His painterly practice lies at the convergence of Abstract Expressionism, experimental painting, high-contrast figuration, Minimalism, and subtle resonances of Pop Art. From these influences, he constructs a distinctive visual language recognized for its chromatic intensity and compositional balance. Color functions as the structural axis of his visual discourse, generating works with strong spatial presence and a clearly defined formal identity.

He was awarded the ICAS 2015 Visual Arts Prize by the City of Seville, promoted by NGO Adhara, for the sculpture Living with the Weight of Metal, installed at Alameda de Hércules (Seville). In 2022, he received the Artistic Grant from the Rafael Botí Foundation and the Provincial Council of Córdoba, further consolidating his institutional trajectory.

In the audiovisual field, he directs music videos and develops the research line Abstraction in Motion, translating pictorial experimentation into photographic and cinematic language. His practice also includes live painting actions, performance concerts, and spatial interventions, expanding his production into poetically experimental formats.

With international projection, ToLARA's work stands out for its visual strength, conceptual consistency, and its ability to engage contemporary spaces, consolidating a solid and distinctive artistic identity within today's art landscape.
