Artwork location: Ukraine
The landscape Spring Blossoming was painted during a plein air session in Sevastopol, Crimea. The painting depicts houses in the Apollonovka district on the shore of Sevastopol Bay. Blooming trees grow beside the houses, and the nearest one is almost entirely entwined with flowering apricot branches.
The work was created on an overcast day. The paint application is dense and the tones are muted, yet the composition conveys a distinctly positive and uplifting impression.
