Fantasy with Flowers 250 - mixed, paper, 59x42cm, unframed, 2025

Rakhmet Redzhepov (Ramzi)

This monochrome artwork features a hauntingly detailed hourglass, prominently positioned in a desolate landscape. Within the hourglass, the sands of time cascade, symbolizing the relentless passage of time. The top section contains trees and wildlife, portraying a thriving ecosystem, while the bottom reveals a skeletal structure buried in the accumulating sand, representing inevitable decay. The hourglass itself appears aged and cracked, reflecting fragility and the struggle against time. Subtle shading and intricate linework enhance depth and texture, drawing the viewer's eye to both the intricacy within the hourglass and the stark emptiness beyond. This piece masterfully contrasts life and mortality, inviting contemplation on the transient nature of existence and the delicate balance between growth and decline. Its evocative imagery and expert execution resonate with a profound and timeless message.
