Description
At the center of the painting, a slight density emerges, not as a clear focal point, but rather as a zone of inner reflection. From this point, the surrounding layers of paint seem to shift and rebalance gently. This subtle movement evokes natural pressure patterns—processes of compression and release occurring beneath the surface, unseen.
The surface is crisscrossed with organic traces. Fine imprints, small elevations, and structural inclusions lend the painting a distinct materiality. At the same time, larger areas remain calm and open, creating a dynamic equilibrium.
The depth of color develops from a nuanced spectrum of green tones. Light, slightly warm nuances meet deeper, cooler areas, generating a spatial effect that only fully reveals itself upon prolonged viewing. It is precisely this understated complexity that lends the work a special, almost elegant presence.
Depending on the angle of the light, the perception of the surface changes significantly. Grazing light highlights the texture and enhances the sense of depth, while even light emphasizes the serene unity of the image.
"Harry" exemplifies a style of painting that moves between materiality, nature, and abstraction, revealing its effect not at first glance, but gradually.
Presentation
Born in Bad Segeberg, my life's journey has taken me to vibrant locales such as Brazil, Spain, and the USA. I pursued my passion for art at the prestigious Falmouth School of Art and Design in England and complemented this with a diploma in Geography from Marburg University.
Since 1997, I have had the privilege of showcasing my work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in cultural hubs like Antwerp, Berlin, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, and Mainz. My artistic journey also involves organizing workshops focused on experimental and expressive painting, sharing my techniques and vision with fellow art enthusiasts.
From 2007 to 2014, I operated a production gallery in Mainz, fostering a creative community. Since 2014, I have been based at my studio in Langendellschlag 62, Wiesbaden, where my creative ideas come to life. In 2021, I expanded my artistic reach by opening "ARTLET," a dedicated art outlet in the heart of the city, making my work more accessible to a broader audience.
My diverse experiences and passion for art continue to drive my creativity, allowing me to inspire and be inspired in return.
