Moments of bloom, 2026

Hela

This striking artwork features a bold depiction of a still-life arrangement of flowers in a vase. The background is a vibrant shade of lavender, creating a dynamic contrast with the rich, deep purples and soft pinks of the flowers. Each bloom is outlined in a distinct, vivid hue, emphasizing their form and giving a sense of movement and life. The vase is a neutral gray, allowing the flowers to captivate the viewer's attention. The foreground is textured with sporadic orange strokes, adding depth and visual interest. The artist's use of color and texture is evocative and modern, bringing a fresh, expressive perspective to a classic subject. This work demonstrates a masterful balance of color and form, making it both visually arresting and profoundly engaging. The piece also features the artist's signature, “HELA," in the bottom right corner, marking its authenticity.

Alongside her still lifes, Hela has developed a second body of work consisting of expressive flower paintings in oil pastel. Influenced by nature, these works embrace a more organic and intuitive approach. For Hela, flowers symbolize the beauty of impermanence ,their short-lived bloom serving as a gentle reminder to slow down, remain present, and cherish the fleeting moments of everyday life.
