Description
This artwork captures the essence of family moments on the beach during vacation. This vibrant and colorful piece captures the lively atmosphere of a seaside terrace. Striped beach umbrellas in shades of blue and white dominate the scene, while the patrons, dressed in a variety of colors, are sketched with expressive and dynamic brushstrokes.
The artist plays with the contrasts between the bold blocks of vibrant color and the more subtle details of the faces and accessories, creating a harmony between abstraction and reality. The warm tones of the clothing and chairs contrast with the cool blues of the umbrellas and the sky, evoking the warmth of summer and the lightness of the moment.
Here, Jean-Marie Drouet transforms an everyday scene into a rhythmic and joyful composition, where the energy of the vacationers and the serenity of the seaside setting blend harmoniously.
Presentation
Born in 1961 Jean Marie Drouet is graduated from the Fine Arts School of Angoulême. He likes drawing and making lot of photos before beginning a painting. He is inspired by contemporary photography and film culture that gives him an optimistic look on the world.
Referring to the American realistic painters such as N.C Wyeth or Edward Hopper, life’s scenes and characters are his favorite subjects. He is also fascinated by strong light contrasts and minimalistic settings. Sunlight is everywhere in Jean Marie Drouet paintings showing us the beautiful side of life.; his painting is quiet and bright aiming the beauty of the present time.
