Description
A powerful gaze anchors this composition. The portrait merges figurative precision with expressive abstraction. Cool blue tones dominate the background. They bleed into the skin. This creates a ghostly, ethereal quality. Sharp black lines define the eyes. The expression remains enigmatic. It oscillates between melancholy and determination.
Dynamic brushstrokes slice across the face. Thin drips of paint descend like rain. These vertical marks add a sense of fragility. They suggest a dissolving identity. A contrasting warmth appears in the reddish-brown accents. Small geometric patterns punctuate the right edge. They provide a rhythmic counterpoint to the fluid washes.
The artist plays with transparency and layering. This technique adds psychological depth to the subject. Light and shadow clash on the bridge of the nose. The lips are softly rendered. They remain closed in silent contemplation. This artwork captures a moment of internal tension. It balances structured anatomy with spontaneous gestures. The final result is a haunting study of human emotion. The composition is framed by sweeping arcs of muted earth tones.
Presentation
Eclectic and multidisciplinary artist from Menorca.
The body, in its broadest sense, is the driving force behind her artistic search and development. From various perspectives, she seeks a dialogue between the artwork and the viewer, inviting reflection. Her work addresses both social and intimate aspects of womanhood, human attitudes and events, and the marks they leave behind—marks that should be questioned. These are recorded signs that remain after what has occurred, offering evidence of a CONTINUOUS PRESENT which, through the wear of time, use and disuse, act as clues that tell lived stories…
She earned her degree, two postgraduate diplomas in Descriptive Geometry, and a PhD from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Barcelona with the thesis , where she was selected by Àlex Mitrani to be promoted as an emerging artist of her graduating class. She participated in an Erasmus exchange at the Faculty of Bologna. She received a European “Artogether" grant from , which included a two-month residency in Istanbul and a traveling exhibition across Europe. She has held around twelve solo exhibitions in Printmaking, Painting, and Drawing, and has participated in group shows in various countries.
