Verónica Arellano

This evocative portrait explores the intersection of identity and fragmentation. A haunting gaze anchors the composition. The eyes remain clear and piercing. They stare directly at the viewer with an intense, quiet strength. Earthy tones dominate the palette. Deep browns and muted beiges create a somber atmosphere. The artist employs a sophisticated layering technique. Bold brushstrokes merge with delicate washes of pigment.
A rhythmic pattern of white rectangular marks floats across the surface. These geometric elements act as a digital veil. They suggest a glitch or a fading memory. This contrast between organic facial features and structured dots creates a compelling tension. The skin appears to dissolve into a mosaic of light. The lips are blurred and indistinct. This ambiguity invites the viewer to question the stability of the subject. It is a study of presence and absence. The artwork balances raw emotion with a calculated graphic approach. Each mark contributes to a sense of psychological depth. The composition is tight and intimate. It captures a fleeting moment of introspection through a monochromatic lens. The interplay of light and shadow defines the contours of the face.
