The Quiet Turning Point, 2025

Halyna Kirichenko

“The Quiet Turning Point" artwork from series “Light Between Days"

“The Quiet Turning Point" explores a moment of inner pause — a space where life gently slows down so as a person can listen to soul or feel the subtle direction of their next step. A faceless figure, wrapped in a soft blue robe and holding a cluster of bright yellow grape, sits in quiet contemplation. The warm presence of a cat at her feet and the simplicity of a cup on the table evoke a sense of safety and grounding — that essential inner refuge each person needs in order to hear themselves clearly.

In this work, Halyna reflects on the stages of a human life and the transformative decisions that redefine who we become. The faceless figure symbolizes every person at a crossroads, while the surrounding stillness suggests the intimate solitude required to confront difficult questions: Which path is truly mine? Am I making this choice consciously or instinctively? Could my fate unfold differently if I dared to choose another direction?

The painting invites viewers to consider their own turning points — those quiet inner moments when the outside world fades, and the soft voice of one's own soul becomes the clearest guide.

Serie “Light Between Days"

In her ongoing series, Halyna explores the stages of human life — moments of transformation, contemplation, and quiet revelation that shape our inner landscapes. Each work captures a fragment of this universal journey: the search for meaning, the experience of change, the delicate balance between action and reflection.

Through minimalist composition and symbolic detail, Halyna traces the rhythm of contemporary existence — where rapid change often challenges our sense of stability, and yet, within that movement, each person seeks their own center of calm. Her characters inhabit intimate spaces of thought and emotion, revealing how the ordinary moments of everyday life can become gateways to self-understanding.

This series reflects on how we navigate our choices, how we adapt and grow, and how we find beauty in the quiet intervals between life's transitions. Halyna's work speaks gently but profoundly about resilience, introspection, and the timeless human capacity to evolve while remaining true to oneself.
