Description

Peaceful sunset over a bay, painted with rich impasto texture. This original oil on canvas artwork presents a plein-air study of Padang Bai bay in East Bali, observed from a hotel balcony above the water and painted directly from life. The scene is built with thick, expressive brushstrokes that give the surface a sculptural presence and a beautiful handmade character. The sky glows with soft cream, blush pink, lavender, and pale blue tones, while the hills are formed with layered blue-green and deep green passages. The water below reflects the fading light in cool silvery shades.

The artwork feels both immediate and tranquil, balancing spontaneity with harmony. It carries the freshness of outdoor observation and the relaxed mood of an unforgettable coastal evening. In other words, it is basically a vacation for the wall. Ideal for modern interior decor, this artwork suits a living room, bedroom, office, or holiday home and makes a thoughtful gift for collectors, travelers, and anyone who loves coastal landscapes, original art, and calming contemporary spaces.

Presentation

Mily ART (Emiliia) is a contemporary painter based in Ubud, Indonesia. She graduated in 2015 from the Russian University of the Academy of Education in Moscow with a degree in Fine Arts.

Working primarily in oil with a palette knife, Emiliia creates expressive impasto paintings defined by rich texture, bold color, and dynamic movement. Her visual language is built through thick layers of paint, flowing drips, and energetic strokes that emphasize the physical presence of the medium. The surface of the canvas becomes an active field where color, light, and gesture interact.

Nature is the central source of her inspiration. Flowers and landscapes encountered during her travels transform into emotional landscapes—vivid, blooming compositions that reflect vitality, freedom, and renewal. Her ongoing series Flowing Flowers explores the sensation of awakening life, using intensified hues and sculptural impasto to convey emotional release and movement.

Emiliia often begins with plein air studies or travel photography, later developing these impressions into large-scale works. Rather than reproducing nature, she translates its energy into tactile color fields, allowing paint itself to embody growth and motion.

Her work has been presented in international and national exhibitions, including The Color of Summer at the Ostankino TV Tower (2024) and The Flower Kingdom at the Moscow Union of Artists (2022), where her painting Peonies received First Prize. She held a solo exhibition at IZO Gallery in Moscow in 2019.

Through expressive oil painting and sculptural texture, Emiliia creates contemporary works that celebrate the emotional power of nature—inviting viewers to slow down, feel presence, and reconnect with color as a living force.
