Description
Mixed Technique Ink and coffee
Abstraction is expressed here with raw spontaneity. The gesture prevails over the form. Thick, assured black lines traverse the composition. They draw a jerky, almost calligraphic rhythm.
The background plays with contrasts of transparency. Ocher and sand flat areas intersect. They evoke architectural structures or fragments of walls.
The acrylic is worked with precision. The white of the support breathes between the saturated areas. The balance arises from the opposition between the rigor of the colored blocks and the freedom of the dark stroke.
This painting explores the sensation of movement. The hand guides the material without constraint. The eye circulates from one tension to another, following the course of the lines.
The whole forms a mental landscape where color structures the space. The final rendering emphasizes a play of subtle superimpositions.
Presentation
From my life in Haute-Savoie on the shores of Lake Geneva to the Périgord Vert region where I settled in 2017, nothing predestined me for artistic creation. And yet, it was a part of destiny that led me to create my first canvases, and to want to do nothing else but paint, again and again.
A skills assessment helped me understand that art was the path to explore. The support process was lengthy because, being hard of hearing, I had lost all confidence in myself and my ability to achieve professional fulfillment. By instilling in me the necessary confidence to take the plunge, the artist within me was awakened!
A self-taught painter since 2021, abstract art naturally became my medium, thanks to the complete freedom it gives me to never restrict myself and to let my hand work. I paint spontaneously!
It is in the solitude of my studio that my canvases become what they decide to be...
