Walter Ciandrini

In this work, Walter Ciandrini depicts two female figures standing very close together, united in a gesture of tenderness and intimacy. Their tilted faces seem to respond to one another as if in a single breath, creating an intimate composition that appears almost suspended outside of time.
The elongated silhouettes and delicately stylized features lend the scene a quiet elegance. The color palette, dominated by deep browns, ochres, whites, and a few shades of gray, envelops the figures in a soft, mineral-like light. The visible, spontaneous brushstrokes lend rhythm to the surface while reinforcing the sense of contained emotion.
Straddling the line between figuration and abstraction, the artist suggests more than he depicts. Their closed eyes invite introspection, while the closeness of the two figures evokes affection, trust, and the strength of a shared bond.
A sensitive and expressive work, whose poetry lies in the balance between gentleness, texture, and simplicity. It will naturally find its place in a contemporary collection focused on the human figure and universal emotions.
