Walter Ciandrini

In this work, Walter Ciandrini celebrates the closeness and tenderness of a silent bond. Two female figures with elongated faces come together in a narrow, almost symbiotic composition. One leans toward the other, as if moved by a gesture of trust, while their closed eyelids create an atmosphere of intimacy and serenity.
The palette of browns, ochres, bluish grays, and creamy whites lends the scene a warm depth. The paint, applied in loose, vibrant brushstrokes, seems to make the figures emerge from the canvas in fragments, hovering between presence and disappearance. Black outlines define the silhouettes, while the lighter areas bring rhythm and light to the whole.
Straddling the line between figuration and abstraction, Ciandrini does not seek to tell a specific story, but rather to capture a universal emotion: the tenderness, the bond, and the quiet strength of a shared presence.
A sensitive and elegant work, with a distinct decorative quality, that will appeal to collectors drawn to contemporary portraits, poetic compositions, and paintings imbued with humanity.
