Description
A white silhouette stands out against a deep blue background. This stylized figure stretches upwards, carried by an upward movement. The thick, homogeneous black line structures the composition with graphic precision.
The artist draws inspiration from 20th-century modern painting and graffiti. He fragments human forms to approach abstraction. The background is treated with a rhythmic texture, composed of small repetitive touches.
This approach favors the simplicity of the gesture and spontaneity. The eye is invited to interpret these deconstructed contours, between mythological figure and geometric shape.
The balance rests on the sharp contrast between the flat areas of color. The composition plays on the tension between the emptiness of the white and the density of the blue. This painting explores the border between the figurative and the abstract through a controlled line.
Presentation
He likes to play with the interpretation the public can make of his work and confront this first reading with the explanation of the symbolism of his line. A partisan of letting go, Bleg often sets out without any preparation on his canvases or sheets of paper, waiting for the "artistic accident." His work is characterized by a search for perpetual simplicity, based on a fast but controlled movement.
