Description
The aesthetic here relies on a thick, uniform black line. The line interweaves precisely on a raw cardboard support. This choice of material brings a tactile and urban dimension to the composition.
The drawing explores the deconstruction of a human figure. The gaze navigates between the recognition of a bodily form and total abstraction. This ambiguity invites a personal and instinctive reading.
The influence of cubism and graffiti is manifested in the geometry of the lines. Each curve and each angle results from a rapid movement, guided by improvisation. The artist allows accident to energize the visual structure.
The chromatic contrast is radical. The deep black stands out against the natural beige of the support. The composition occupies the space organically, playing with the tears and textures of the cardboard. The whole forms a visual alphabet where the body becomes a graphic symbol.
Presentation
He likes to play with the interpretation the public can make of his work and confront this first reading with the explanation of the symbolism of his line. A partisan of letting go, Bleg often sets out without any preparation on his canvases or sheets of paper, waiting for the "artistic accident." His work is characterized by a search for perpetual simplicity, based on a fast but controlled movement.
