Description
The Blind Garden is an unsettling, surreal parable about the survival of the inner world in a state of rupture from external reality. The work deliberately rejects conventional aesthetic “comfort," inviting the viewer into a space of a strange, somewhat alienated, and disquieting experience.
At the center is a woman whose eyes are blindfolded with a red ribbon. Deprived of the ability to see the world around her, she retreats into her own unconscious space. Around her, a blind garden grows: massive, prickly cacti alongside fragile pink flowers, black birds, and a striped fish floating through a terrestrial landscape. These elements exist beyond familiar logic and standard notions of beauty. They emerge where usual points of reference collapse and trust in the external world is lost.
The garden is called “blind" because it grows blindly — indifferent to expectations, rules, or conventional ideas of what is “acceptable" or “beautiful." It is a wild, instinctive process of self-restoration and protection.
The painting invites the viewer into an honest dialogue with their own experience of crisis, offering not a sweet illusion, but a sincere reflection of a complex inner state that continues to live and grow despite everything.
