Description
This work is part of the series “Inside and outside", which explores the connection between a person's inner world and what is happening around them.
The series speaks about thoughts, feelings, memories, and experiences that a person carries within, and how they gradually find their way to the outside. Not everything can be expressed in words, but an inner state still leaves a trace — in a person's gaze, behavior, movement, or perception of the world around them.
There is no clear boundary between “inside" and “outside" in these works. The two spaces constantly merge and influence one another. Marks, lines, layers, and textures become reflections of this process.
Each work in the series represents a separate state, existing somewhere between an inner experience and the outside world. Shipped in roll.
Presentation
Aliona Koroliova is a Ukrainian artist whose practice explores the subtle connection between material and emotion. Art has always been an inseparable part of her life — a quiet language through which she perceives and expresses the world.
In 2011, she graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Technologies and Design with a degree in Textile Design, which shaped her sensitivity to texture, composition, and color. Over time, her path naturally evolved from botanical watercolor illustration to abstract painting, where color and light become a form of inner contemplation.
Since 2024, she has been studying in the studio of Ukrainian artist Oleksii Malykh. In her works, she turns to the themes of light, balance, and silence — creating a space not for explanation, but for feeling.
