Description
A haunting silhouette dominates the frame. Ink flows with a raw and fluid energy. The figure emerges from a deep veil of shadow. Organic shapes blur the line between body and void. A tension exists between the light background and the heavy dark washes. This artwork explores the fragility of the human presence. Precise strokes define the contours of a seated form. The composition balances stark minimalism with emotional depth. Deep brown tones create a sense of timelessness. The artist employs a graphic sensibility rooted in academic mastery. A rhythmic contrast develops between solid masses and translucent layers. The gesture remains ambiguous and evocative. Individual anatomy dissolves into atmospheric abstraction. The gaze is drawn toward the intersection of light and ink. Every wash suggests a hidden narrative of solitude. This 1997 piece reflects a sophisticated approach to the human portrait. The composition terminates in a sharp grounded line at the base of the page.
Presentation
Polish painter. She studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the years 1984-1989, in the graphic studios of prof. Halina Chrostowska and prof. Rafal Strent and in the painting studio of prof. Jerzy Tchorzewski.
She gained a PhD in visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 2012. Currently, she runs a graphic arts and design workshop at the European Faculty of Arts at the Vistula Academy of Finance and Business.
Her works have been exhibited at numerous exhibitions, including in the United States, Sweden, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Greece.
