Description
A haunting dialogue of ink and light. This artwork explores the fragility of human presence through overlapping silhouettes. Dark, saturated tones define a central figure stretching upward. Beside it, a pale shadow echoes the same gesture. The interplay of transparency creates a sense of duality. It evokes a memory or a ghost of a previous movement.
Created in 1997, the piece reflects a mastery of graphic contrast. The artist utilizes a restricted palette to emphasize form over color. Fluid lines blend into dense washes of brown ink. Each stroke is deliberate. The composition balances the heavy weight of the lower body against the ethereal quality of the upper torso.
The academic precision of the creator is evident in the anatomical flow. The figures merge into a single rhythmic entity. This fusion suggests a deep psychological connection. Balance and tension coexist on the white paper. The focus remains on the essence of the human silhouette and the void it occupies.
Presentation
Polish painter. She studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the years 1984-1989, in the graphic studios of prof. Halina Chrostowska and prof. Rafal Strent and in the painting studio of prof. Jerzy Tchorzewski.
She gained a PhD in visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 2012. Currently, she runs a graphic arts and design workshop at the European Faculty of Arts at the Vistula Academy of Finance and Business.
Her works have been exhibited at numerous exhibitions, including in the United States, Sweden, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Greece.
