Description
This modular artwork is a journey into the space of personal memory, where summer is preserved not as a single story, but as a collection of separate impressions. The sea, a coastal town, sunlight, white houses, sailboats, seagulls, waves, a lighthouse, sea turtles, and flowers appear like fragments of an old photo album. This bright painting is filled with light and the feeling of warm sea air, bringing back memories of travel, holidays, and carefree days by the sea.
Yet memory is rarely precise. Over time, images become mixed, layered, and transformed. That is why the composition consists of numerous small modules: some fragments remain recognizable, while others are cut apart, shifted, or combined with completely different images. The upper panel seems to bring these scattered memories together into a single landscape — but no longer as a photograph of the past, rather as its reflection within our memory.
The artist is drawn to the idea explored in the film “Backstage of Reality" — the notion that every event leaves a trace in space. Yet this trace is never preserved literally: it can be incomplete, distorted, displaced, and mixed with traces of other events. Each module therefore becomes a kind of trace of time, while the entire composition becomes a reconstruction of memory.
The impressive size of the artwork — 280 × 230 cm — allows it to be experienced almost as a space in its own right. This large wall-sized painting does more than decorate an interior; it immerses the viewer in a world of memories. From close up, numerous details reveal themselves, while from a distance, the separate fragments merge into a unified image.
This contemporary painting combines landscape, memory, and reflection on the passage of time, transforming a personal experience into a universal story. The work is particularly suited to a spacious modern interior, where large-scale interior artwork can become the central artistic focus. This painting on canvas would work beautifully in a living room, country house, modern apartment, or any other space where the artwork can occupy an entire wall.
Presentation
Irina: "I am full-time artist. I find my happiness in doing art. Art is a part of my soul, my energy, my vision of the world. I consider myself a multi-faceted artist, I like to experiment with materials. I realized that I can create beauty not only with paints. I create three-dimensional artworks with volumetric elements. I work in two directions: mosaic paintings and wall sculpture art. I use decorative found objects, mosaic, plaster, wood, shells, crystals, gemstones, anything that can realize my ideas. My art is full of life and joy. The main theme is a Woman, her life, thoughts, feelings, relationships with people and the world".
