Description
Skin often reduced to its color, becomes the main subject here
The artist deliberately accentuated the cracks which evoke the fissures and wounds left by discrimination.
Metaphorically. the bark creates a parallel with the skin: a covering that protects, but also carries the stigmas of time and lived experiences.
The material becomes a metaphor for the skin: a surface that protects, that carries traces and testifies to lived experience..
Work painted in acrylic on mixed media technique. Protected with a transparent anti-uv glossy varnish
The work is signed on the back by the artist and delivered with its certificate of authenticity
Presentation
Capturing the multitude of colors of the sensitive world to transcribe it in its environment with poetry, such is the work of Nathanaël Koffi.
Born in 1995, this young visual artist, nicknamed the “Color Dealer," uses all media, without distinction, to leave his colorful mark.
From cars to skateboards, from wood to metal , from canvas to sculpture , his creativity has no limits. He likes to divert certain everyday objects to sublimate the world around him. His use of abstraction , associated with the variation of colors and patterns, leads the viewer to extract himself from his own reality.
The intuitive aspect of his work counterbalances the precision and rigor inherent in the creation of his works. Indeed, Nathanaël creates with freedom, letting himself be guided by his emotions and instinct: no sketches or advance preparation. The composition of the color is free.
Heavily influenced in particular by the pastel tones of Wes Anderson, the fauvism of André Derain and the abstract compositions of Sonia Delaunay, the "Color Dealer" likes to combine different layers of color, with no apparent connection to each other, and to reveal their harmony.
Nathanaël Koffi develops a universal language through color.
Behind the playful and naive aspect of his works, the artist offers a reflection on the human condition beyond appearances and conventions.
