Description
*Work with a View* is a vibrant contemporary composition by the artist, created with acrylic and markers on canvas. Measuring 25 x 25 cm, the work combines bold colours, expressive black lines and fragmented geometric forms to create a lively, layered visual world. The central figure appears immersed in a colourful, imaginative environment, while the surrounding forms suggest a playful interpretation of everyday life and the relationship between a person and their surroundings. Deep blues, vivid greens, warm oranges, pinks and yellows create a joyful and energetic atmosphere, while the spontaneous marker lines add movement and a distinctive hand-drawn quality. *Work with a View* is well suited to collectors who appreciate contemporary, expressive and colourful art with a playful approach to figurative and abstract forms. Its compact format makes it particularly versatile for modern, eclectic and creative interiors, where it can be displayed individually or as part of a small art collection or gallery wall. The artwork will be carefully packed and shipped in a protective box, making it suitable for secure international delivery.
Presentation
Marianne Fanous (b. 1985, Cairo, Egypt) is a self-taught contemporary Egyptian artist who lives and works in Cairo. Although she holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and Biotechnology, she has cultivated her artistic practice independently through years of experimentation, intuition, and an enduring commitment to creative exploration.
Fanous draws inspiration from her Christian faith, Egyptian identity, the country's landscapes and agricultural heritage, and the organic forms found in nature—particularly palm trees and the rhythms of the natural world. Working through expressive abstraction, she explores themes of creation, hope, belonging, and transformation, creating paintings that celebrate both the richness of the natural environment and the resilience of the human spirit.
Her practice is defined by spontaneity, expressive mark-making, and an intuitive approach that allows each composition to develop organically rather than through predetermined planning. Rich textures, layered surfaces, and vibrant color palettes create immersive visual experiences that invite contemplation, joy, and emotional connection.
Fanous works across acrylic, oil, watercolor, ink, acrylic markers, and mixed media, often incorporating metallic elements and tactile surfaces that enhance the physical presence of each painting. Her works balance expressive freedom with a deep sensitivity to landscape, memory, and spirituality.
She has participated in group exhibitions in El Gouna and Egypt's North Coast.
Through her practice, Marianne Fanous seeks to cultivate a renewed sense of curiosity and childlike wonder, encouraging viewers to encounter nature, faith, and everyday life with openness, gratitude, and hope.
