Midday Apples | Vibrant Red Apple Still Life in Turquoise Blue, 2026

Tatiana Kvashnina

Four vibrant red apples stand out against a refreshing turquoise-blue background, their warm crimson, coral, and golden tones illuminated by soft frontal light. The contrast between the colorful fruit and cool surroundings creates a lively contemporary still life filled with freshness and warmth.

Painted in oil on canvas, the artwork combines expressive impressionist brushwork with generous impasto. Visible palette-knife marks reveal the movement of the artist's hand, adding depth and character to each apple. Sweeping blue and white strokes bring energy to the background while maintaining the simplicity of the composition.

Rather than seeking photographic realism, the artist celebrates the pleasure of color, texture, and familiar everyday objects. The result is a joyful, expressive artwork that feels equally at home in a modern kitchen, welcoming dining room, or colorful contemporary interior. An appealing choice for collectors who enjoy tactile painting surfaces and fresh interpretations of traditional still life.
