Shelter, 2026

Iryna Tymovchak

From the series Where We Belong
Presentation: Stretched on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang.

At the center of the composition is the tender figure of a child who has found shelter in the secure embrace of an adult. Their figures merge with the surrounding landscape, creating a unified space of protection, intimacy, and trust. The warm palette of pink, golden, and amber hues enhances the feeling of tenderness and emotional closeness.

Within the Where We Belong series, the artwork explores home not as a physical place, but as a sense of security born within human relationships. It is a reflection on unconditional love, care, and the deep human need to have someone near whom one can be vulnerable and, at the same time, feel protected.

The multilayered texture of the painting, soft color transitions, blurred shapes, and vertical drips create a sense of fluidity, enveloping the figures in an almost atmospheric environment.

Here, the landscape becomes a metaphor for an inner space where the most essential feeling is born: we are home where we are loved and accepted.
