Epiphany, 2025

Iryna Tymovchak

From the series “Between States".

This work explores a moment of sudden clarity emerging from uncertainty. Rather than depicting a specific landscape, Epiphany evokes an inner terrain where perception shifts and a new understanding begins to take shape.

In the Between States series, I use landscape as a metaphor for transformation. Fluid forms, layered surfaces, and traces of movement suggest a reality that is constantly unfolding — a space where dissolution and emergence coexist.

Created through a process of layering, erasure, and allowing the material to respond freely, the painting reflects my ongoing exploration of the balance between control and surrender. Drips, translucent passages, and gestural marks record the painting's evolution, making the process itself visible.

A luminous center gradually radiates through the composition, organizing the surrounding forms without imposing order upon them. For me, this light represents a moment of insight — not a final answer, but a brief experience of coherence within complexity.

Epiphany reflects my interest in the hidden structures that emerge through transformation. It is an invitation to inhabit the space between certainty and mystery, where meaning reveals itself gradually and intuitively.
