The Moment of Confluence, 2025

Iryna Tymovchak

“The Moment of Confluence" (from the series "Between States").

This monumental canvas, measuring 150 × 139 cm, acts as a visual portal, immersing the viewer into a space of subtle emotional and physical metamorphoses. Due to its large format, the artwork gains a powerful expressiveness that commands the attention of the entire exhibition hall.
* Concept: The title captures that elusive second when two autonomous entities—whether natural elements, flows of energy, or human souls—dissolve their boundaries. Expressive circles and delicate orbital lines visually represent this process of attraction and interpenetration.
* Color and Light: A deep, almost cosmic palette of ultramarine and cobalt shades serves as a backdrop for bursts of warm ochre, gold, and soft white light. This contrast creates a sense of pulsation within the composition.
* Philosophy of the Series: Belonging to the "Between States" cycle emphasizes the transient nature of the image. The artist explores the borderline between form and chaos, the material and the spiritual, capturing the very moment a new, unified whole is born.
* Pictorial Texture: The multi-layered application of paint, combined with thin vertical drips, creates an effect of live vibration. The surface of the canvas feels fluid and tactile, inviting the viewer into a long, meditative contemplation.
The artwork perfectly balances monumental scale with the intimacy of internal experiences, leaving ample room for the viewer's personal interpretation.
