Description
From the series “Where We Belong"
Medium: Acrylic and oil pastels on canvas;
Presentation: Stretched on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang.
The painting depicts five figures gathered together at the edge of a vast, atmospheric landscape. Seen from behind, they share a quiet moment of presence — without a defined action, destination, or narrative. Their closeness creates a sense of belonging rooted in togetherness rather than in a particular place.
The landscape expands around them in layers of muted color, light, and texture, dissolving between recognizable forms and abstraction. Through translucent layers, expressive brushwork, gestural marks, and subtle drips, I allow the landscape to remain fluid and alive, as if it continues to transform around the figures.
The figures are intentionally anonymous, allowing the scene to move beyond a specific story and become a reflection on connection, memory, and the places we create through shared experience.
Where We Gather explores belonging as a quiet state of being together — a moment when the outside world becomes a shared space, and presence itself becomes a form of home.
